Lord, as of late my belief in you has been true but not at the forefront of my life. I have been lost in world knowlegde and logic, foresaking you often. Your recent call to me has shown the fallacy of my ways and has placed me on a journey to seek you above all else. Forgive my sins and teach me to be man of Christ for myself and others. Help me find the path that will allow me to reach the narrow gate which you have placed before us. Amen.

I always imagined false prophets as wicked people intentionally trying to lead gullible believers astray. Thank you for this different perspective. Satan doesn't need to turn us horribly evil to win our souls. Since the gate is narrow, just a tiny variation in our trajectory can have us miss the mark. But Jesus is faithful and guards this sincere but fallible wretch, turning my errors to victory for his glory. He is my only hope. For HE is the vine from which my fruit grows.

I have found that acts of kindness are a great vehicle to share my faith. One finds joy from the deed. The smile of thanks is my reward. Thank you Jesus for opening my heart to your greatness and teaching me how rewarding kindness toward others can be.

Down at Your feet, oh Lord Is the most high place In Your presence, Lord I seek your face, seek your face There is no higher calling, no greater honor Then to bow and kneel before Your throne I am amazed at Your glory, embraced by Your mercy Oh Lord, I live to worship You Lord may I never forget who you are. Your are my reason why I exist. amen

DAY 181: Is Your Fruit Ripe?

“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
~ Matthew 7: 15-17 (NIV)

Watch yourself!  The last thing you want to be is a false prophet... unaware!  If your words say you love God, but the way you act and deal with others isn't very Christlike... you are walking a thin line. Check yourself.

At the close of each day, take a look back at your actions, words, heart....check the fruit left behind. Is it ripe and nourishing?  Pray for God to keep your actions in line with your lips.

So you messed up a few things? God forgives. Strive to get it right the next day.
