106/365: What Did Jesus Say About Faith?

They arrived again in Jerusalem, and while Jesus was walking in the temple courts, the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders came to him. “By what authority are you doing these things?” they asked. “And who gave you authority to do this?” ~ Mark 11:27-28

On Tuesday, Jesus and His disciples returned to Jerusalem. It was teaching day.

On the road to Jerusalem, the disciples learned that faith can move mountains through prayer. But it comes at the price of forgiveness and forgiving others. It's what they longed to hear.

In the temple courts, the educated elites learned about God's authority and the place of Christ at the right hand of God. It's not what they wanted to hear.

The teachings of Christ are offensive to those who follow their own desires. Today, we learn from the voice of Jesus as he teaches us about the two most important commandments...

[First] Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31
