105/366: When Anger Gets The Best of You

Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the temple courts. He looked around at everything, but since it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve. ~ Mark 11:11

After riding into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, Jesus looked at the mockery the people were making of the temple and he left the city - disappointed.

The next day, Jesus and the twelve came back to the city. On the way, He cursed a fig tree for not having fruit -- even though it wasn't in season to produce fruit.

When entering the city he began flippling tables and driving out the money changers who turned the temple into a showplace. He cleansed the temple without damaging people.

In our lives, pressure will come. Bad days will happen. We will get angry, but we must not allow our anger to become sin that twists our heart into taking action against others - or action against oursevles.

Jesus was angry. Anger isn't a sin. However, anger converted into damage is against God's will for His people.

This is why we pray for peace before acting - because Christ knows our heart and our place. Give Him the moment and shut it down before it grows into something you will regret.
