105/365: When Anger Gets The Best of You

Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the temple courts. He looked around at everything, but since it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve. ~ Mark 11:11

After riding into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, Jesus looked at the mockery the people were making of the temple and left the city.

Monday, Jesus and the twelve came back to the city. On the way, He cursed a fig tree for not having fruit -- even though it wasn't in season to produce fruit. Why?

Jesus was hungry and angry with what he saw the night before. He reacted.  He cursed a fig, thrashed the money changers in the temple, and knew there was a group plotting to kill him.

He had a bad day.

Have you ever had a bad day and lost your temper...pouring your sour attitude on everyone and everything in your way?

Jesus understands those days - He's been there.

Pressure will come. Bad days will happen. We will get angry. But it can't be a way of life.

This is why we pray for peace before acting - because Christ knows our heart and our place.
