There are always speech and presentation courses offered at educational institutions. On the other side of that coin there should be courses on listening. We all know that there should be proper communication but it is useless without active listening.

Thank you Lord for bestowing your mercy and Grace upon me. LORD I believe You are the Father of Jesus Christ and the savior of the world! Please Grace me with the wisdom to know when to shut my egotistical mouth and LISTEN to Your Holy word speaking to me. Lord I am a sinner and a fool because You always speak to us yet I do not always listen. God please bless us prideful men with the wisdom of Your most Holy Spirit to remind us of the words written by the blood of Christ forever alive and speaking to us. Let us listen better by quieting our lives and seeking your words and your laws, so that we may bring glory and honor to You Father Almighty! In the name of Jesus Christ always, Amen!

Father God, we humbly come to You today to ask that You give us the ability to quickly listen, but be slow to speak. Many times when we have an opportunity to listen to someone we will be thinking ahead to our response. Let us be good listeners and let others fully say what is on their minds. When we speak let us be mindful that they have felt comfortable speaking with us. Let us show You in our response and make them feel comfortable. Praying in the name of Jesus. Amen

Lord Jesus, I humbly ask for your guidance in being able to listen to my wife and kids before I even consider getting on my charger, suiting up and going into battle. Please help me to discern when I am needed to fight/solve issues and when I simply need to listen. Thank you for always guiding me through this wonderful life! Love you so much

Heavenly Father, I humbly approach Your throne of grace, May I be a blessing to someone needing Your grace today, and listen to their concers, if I may offer any advice, May it reflect Your love for them and be honorable and pleasing for You. Amen.

DAY 155: Are You Ready To Listen?

To answer before listening—  that is folly and shame.  ~ Proverbs 18:13

Have you ever prayed to God just so you could let Him know what His answer should be?  Have you ever offered advice to a friend without truly listening to all of their concerns?

Listening requires effort and giving your attention to others.  Listening is an act of care for someone.  Let's be men who reflect God's nature - listen before offering advice.

When a guy finally starts talking about his stuff, it's a big deal.  Are you ready to talk? Are you ready to listen?
