Magnificent Father, we come to You today to thank You for another day in Your beautiful creation. We don’t know what the day will bring, but we need to be thankful for every day You give us. While we all have troubles, if we will count our many blessings we will see we always come out on the positive side. Empower us to use any situation to glorify You and Your kingdom. While I don’t have everything I WANT, You provide all that I NEED. All glory to Jesus. Amen.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the grace You cover me with each day, as I stumble thru life making mistakes and bad choices. I know that I can always ask You for forgiveness and have You restore me, so that I may be a better man each day. may I rest in Your unfailing love always. Amen.

A familiar story, Greg. Guys often come to me with the end of the rope in their hands. After talking, we usually find the issue lies with what they are trying to control. Almost always the stress comes from trying to control how others act while neglecting how they act. God always asks us to look at ourselves first - take care of home base and let the others handle their business. We can’t control what they do, but we can control how we respond.

Had one of those days yesterday where everything I mean everything went wrong from work to home and let me tell you what I had people who where there to give real wisdom even biblical at that. But I was stuck in a pity party for myself and just made things worse until I FORCED myself for some private time with the Lord. It's amazing how bad we can make things for ourselves. Guess out of selfishness... not sure. Regardless when left to my own devices I usually fail until I welcome the Lord into my problems

DAY 151: Trouble Is a Teacher

Trouble and distress have come upon me, but your commands give me delight. Your statutes are always righteous; give me understanding that I may live.  ~ Psalm 119: 143-144

Do you have those days when nothing seems to work out?  Have you muttered those words, "this day, just sucks."

All of us hit that wall at some point. The challenges mount up against us, and we feel overwhelmed. And facing them alone doesn't help much.

Attempting to "overpower" your ugly situation with only "will-power" is a bad plan. You need more than that.

God gives us helpers. We just have to ask him to open our eyes. Ask for wisdom to find something valuable to learn in the midst of trouble. God promises to never leave your side. (Deut. 31:6).

What are you learning because of your troubled day?
