Heavenly Father, I humbly approach Your throne of service and sacrifice. You Lord, demonstrated the amazing ultimate sacrifice. I now can recieve redemption and forgiveness of my sin. I can now be restored, renewed, and rewired to live each day for Your pleasure. let me do good today Lord, especially to those who belong to my family, and family of believers. may I be pleasing to be around, by Your grace may I demonstrate that I love You Lord, and not with unpleasant words and immature reactions. Father may I be of service to You, that is pleasing and honorable to You. because of all Christ did for me. Amen.

It's all about love, take care of those around you, especially family. Be careful not to enable them, but care for them as Jesus would have done for you

This is a very valid message for me. When I examine my life, I see times when I have felt angry toward Family members close to me or not invested the time and energy with them that I should have, and yet feel good about myself because of service to others. I think I am getting better at this. Despite how I might feel, Jesus tells me I am to display love toward even my enemies. So I know I need to consistently figure out how to display love toward my Family members - even when I disagree with them or feel mad toward them. Thanks for this message, Greg.

DAY 140: Taking Care of the Family

God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
~ Hebrews 6:10

Taking care of the less fortunate in your community  is basic decent human behavior.  God is clear, however, that we should also continue to serve the needs of our Christian family.

Sometimes we get caught up serving on the edges of society and forget about the people close to us.

Serving is a decision we make each day.  Ask God to reveal the need around you - that your eyes will be opened. Then ask for the strength and courage to move to action.
