I have been reading for a few weeks now, and this is my first response. For men, relying on others, even God, can be a difficult endeavor. Yet at the same time, it is so freeing when I learn to let go of something and let God handle it. Father, please give me the strength and wisdom to allow You to fight and win my battles!

Amen! I must let the Lord lead me and not jump ahead on my own accord and most likely fail miserably. Just like in Psalm 46:10 God is in control He is the skipper.

Father, this is exactly what I needed to hear today. I am a recovering alcoholic who has failed when I try to fight on my own. I will memorize this verse and use it when temptation arises. I know it will but with Christ by my side I can do all. Thank you Lord for being in the hearts of all the men on here and helping us to battle whatever struggle we may have.

This is just what I needed today. My human weakness wants to pick a fight with my business partner but this helped to set my mind right so that we can work together to solve the problem rather than fighting to create new ones. Thank the Lord who provides in our time of need!

All Knowing and Powerful God, we come to You today to thank You for the victory Christ has already won for us. We live in a dark world filled with the forces of evil. With Christ by our side we can face battles, struggles, temptations knowing that He has already won the victory for us. He has already defeated evil on our behalf. Praise to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! Amen.

Exactly what I needed today...thank you, Lord!

DAY 128: Are You Ready For The Fight?

The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord.  ~ Proverbs 21:31

Too often we rush into the fight with no regard of God's plan to deliver the victory.  How many struggles have you faced without God - only to crawl back weak and beaten... begging for Him to rescue you?

When the temptations arise and the impulse begs you to run into the fight, pause and do 3 things:

  1. Memorize this verse, and speak it to yourself when the urge arises to launch
  2. Take a deep breath and ask God to go ahead of you
  3. Then pray about your preparation and training to enter the "ring" that awaits.
