Erik, I appreciate you all being here. I'm trying to start over, stay calm, and stop speaking without first stopping and thinking.

Brothers, right now I see the need for a friend to keep me accountable. two days ago, I almost threw my marriage away, through one too many angry outbursts, one too many meltdowns. One friend stepped up to make sure I wasn't going to do anything stupid, but I don't want to press all of my problems on him.

Eternal, Magnificent, God, we come to You today to thank You for the others You put in our lives. You are always with us, and we all have the Holy Spirit within us, but we also thank you for the men and women you put in our lives. These are the ones we can touch, talk with, and get suggestions from. While You are always our first backup, unfortunately, many times we don’t listen to You the way we should. A brother will correct us and possibly grab us and guide us onto the right path. We thank You for those types of brothers. Empower us to be the type of brother that someone else thanks You for putting us in their lives. Praying in the name of the greatest brother we can have, Jesus Christ. Amen

Heavenly Father, good and gracious all the time, thank You for the men before showing me the love of Christ, and thank you for the men I have had a privilege to influence in some small way. Father it is always You, putting people in my life at just the right moment to bring us into communion with with You. Father thank You for Jesus, He always has our back, thank You for the Holy Spirit who is with us in our battles everyday. sin is not my master anymore. the wages of sin is death. Jesus thank You for amazing sacrifice of abiding in God's will, put to death for my sins, at my very worst, still you died for me. God put your desires in me, fill me with the Holy Spirit so that I desire what the Spirit desires. Amen.

Praise the Lord. Ditching the friends was one of the ways I got better. Those who do things that divert you down the wrong path aren't friends. You might be one of those type friends and with friends like that who needs enemies. A man needs to be alone for sometime with the Lord then he can know what a friend is and a friend isnt.

DAY 68: Who Has Your Back?

One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.  ~ Proverbs 18:24

What is better than knowing a friend who has your back?  Having a freind who entrusts you to watch his back.

Life works better when someone is covering your blindside.  Most guys can count their true friends on one hand, and that number tends to shrink as men get older.

An isolated man is vulnerable for attack. Jesus kept a circle of watch, so should you. To have friends like that, you must be a friend like that. Got it?

Does someone have your back?  Whose back are you covering?
