Eternal, Mighty God, we humbly come to You today to thank You for putting things into perspective. I’m typing this and thinking this phone cost more that many of Your children make in a year. Empower us to share our treasure with those that can use it so bad. Very little sacrifice by us can make a world of difference to someone in need. Let us help the lesser of those needing help. Guide us to give freely and happily. Praying in the name of the greatest giver, Jesus Christ. Amen

Father, thank You that we are Your sons, we have been predestined, justified, and glorified to be among many brothers. Father fasting has been a topic for many and we are to seek You during our fast for power, strength, substance.. You place on our hearts who is to receive a blessing from You not us. those who are led by the Spirit of God, are sons of God. nothing can separate us from the love of God, thanks be to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.

DAY 66: Fixing A Money Problem

Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless.  ~ Ecclesiastes 5:10

When our lust for money outgrows our love for Christ, the problem isn't the money... it's the man holding it.

Some people say we should throw away all of our posessions and become poor for the Lord.  While it sounds noble, it doesn't fix the problem of the heart.  The heart doesn't care how much or how little you have.

Being a good steward of what you have or earn is the best way to honor God and keep your heart in check.  There are two things you can do on a regular basis to stay focused on the right prize:

  1. Fasting:  Give up the pursuit of one non-essential thing that money buys you.  Pray for God to reveal it and guide you in the fast.
  2. Giving:  Turn the money saved from fasting that "thing" into a blessing for someone in need.  Ask God to direct you toward the right place to give.
