Father God, we come to You today to thank You for giving us a desire to serve others. You have given us life abundant, let us reach out and serve others. Many times we will come up with all kinds of reasons not to, but in our hearts we know we should. As You have blessed us, let us bless others. Praying in the name of the greatest servant, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Our mens group was just discussing this on Sunday. We are hoping to draw more to Christ through our deeds. And our opportunities are endless being on the Texas coast where deveststion from Hurricane Harvey is still very evident. Pleae pray that we hear and folliw His lead.

So many times I'm looking for my own satisfaction and happiness, but when I'm looking to help or encourage someone else, that's much more satyisfing. To see someone else feels better makes me thankful and very happy. Thank you Lord for all the people you let cross my way.

DAY 23: The Secret To Happiness

"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”  ~ Mark 10:45

Contentment and happiness comes through serving others out of the compulsion of our heart. Jesus set the course for us to live our lives abundantly - through serving.

Think of the Christian life as a series of doorways - each of them leading to a new opportunity of service.  If we stop long enough to notice the small details and intricate work of God in our neighbors, we'll see masterpieces. We'll take interest. We will crave to serve.

Find a way to serve someone every day. A kind word, a helping hand, a warm meal. Use your imagination. Serve not because you have to, but because you want to. This will erase fear and replace with joy.

How will you serve tody? What is your plan?
