I really needed this message, because it seems that even though I am not (by my own decision) not the manager where I am working and I do not have to take on the responsibilities of a manager. I still find myself striving harder than my manager to get the job done. And totally wearing myself out every day.

Heavenly Father, You are our God, and we are Your people. Let us strive to only please You. As we go through the day, let us keep our eyes on the cross to give us the proper goal for the day. As we work for others we have goals to fulfill, but our main goal has to be to please You, and then our families. Keep our compass pointed toward You, and not things of the world. Praying in the name of Jesus. Amen.

So true I see so many families broken apart because the husband is married to their jobs. We all have to work but our families need us too.

DAY 312: Overcoming The Pressure

Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.  ~ Psalm 46:10 (NASB)

What kind of pressure are you applying to your life? Who is asking you to do more than you can do?

Yes, the soil must be plowed, but we are to find our ultimate joy in the work we are provided and to remember that God is the authority over our life.

Yes, goals and dreams are true joys in life, but we must pave that road with trust in God's perfect truth - first.

So if you are striving to please yourself or please others before seeking God, you will have a long, hard road to travel.

If you have unecessary striving in your life, maybe it's time to put it down and get back on track with God's vision for you -- to live abundantly in His truth and mercy.
