300/365: Toss Out The Fakes

When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son. But the more they were called, the more they went away from me. They sacrificed to the Baals and they burned incense to images. It was I who taught Ephraim to walk, taking them by the arms; but they did not realize it was I who healed them. I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love.  ~ Hosea 11:1-4

The world flashes its shiny objects and we chase the world - as if it can offer hope, rescue our souls, or fill our empty spaces like a god.  Men, The world is a cheap, impotent, strange toy god.

Do you have a strange toy god?  Money, time, pride, greed, lust, power, food?  God knows what you crave and why you run toward it - after all, He made you!

Put away the toys and turn to the one and only God who knows you and loves you.  Confess, repent, and find rest.
