It is so much easier for me to be "on mission" to the ends of the earth than to be bold and faithful in my witness right here in Jerusalem (my family). In not sure exactly why this is. I think I am allowing condemnation and accusation to rob my fire and boldness with those closest to me... Because they know the reality of who I am. God help me believe the gospel more. Do whatever it takes in my heart and mind that I can always give what is most valuable (Jesus) to those I care about the most (my family).

This hit home very well. As of late, I have noticed how disconnected my family has been. My wife and I have been so busy with work and running children around, I think it's starting to take it's toll on my family. Kids are acting up and doing things out of the norm and my wife is completely exhausted. Thr beginning of the list hit the right spot.

God our Father, Jesus our Savior, Holy Sprit our Strength, we humbly come to You today to thank You for being in our lives. What a joy to have You in our lives. Let us boldly proclaim Your name and glory. Lead us today to those that don’t know You, and let us bring You into their lives. Give us the strength, wisdom, and courage to contact those we normally don’t associate with. Let us step out of our comfort zones and share Your Word. Praying in the name of the one that gave all for us, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Great advice. We all need to be reaching out to those close, those near, and those separated from us and God. It has always been God's intent that we be His hands and feet. Let's get to the work He has called us to.

Very well put and thought provoking questions. Have to admit it, if and when I follow through on this it will definitely expand the reach and ministry of Christ beyond just my daily routine. Thank you for that reminder!

DAY 300: How To Change Your World

you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. ~ Acts 1:8

Faith is designed to be shared, not kept. When you are ready to live it, do it like Jesus describes.

Jesus gave us a 4 step growth model to help us break away from our comfort zone and spread His message of hope, love, grace, and freedom.  This model will change your corner of the world.

Think of Jerusalem as the place where you are accepted and find the most comfort. Judea is the outer reaches of your acquaintences, and somewhat familiar areas. Samaria is where your enemies live and the places you wish didn't exist, and the rest of the world are the unexplored places, strangers, and unfamiliar parts of your world.

How to change your world?
Start at home and work your way out:

  1. Take care of business at home.  With those closest to you.
  2. Live your faith among your community, your workplace, your familiar and well traveled locations
  3. Forgive your enemies and adversaries. Share God's love with those you find hard to love.
  4. Go to unknown places, unfamiliar neighborhoods, locations with little knowledge of God.  Find the edges of your world who have never heard Christ's good news.
