...and the best way to teach others to be gracious is to model graciousness. This is especially true in our present culture of meanness and verbal assaults.

Amen. I'd rather use my words to build people up then tear them down. I truly believe whether our words are gracious or damning all starts with our very own self talk. If GOD's word rules and reigns in our lives to uplift us, then it will be evident in how we speak to others. A good way to get a picture of how gracious someone feels GOD has been to them, is captured in how we see them gracious to others.

DAY 272: Becoming a Voice of Hope

Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
~ Proverbs 16:24

Something profound happens when our views, opinions, and words turn from critical to affirming.  Our daily life begins to shift from pessimism to optimism.  Bad days turn into good days and people who avoided us begin to inch closer to us.

As followers of Christ, we not only have the responsibility to be gracious - we have the responsibility of teaching others "grace".

If you are looking for contentment, joy, and fullness of life... look no further than the words resting behind your lips. Speak life - win life.
