Right on, Jay. My top advice for guys who are frustrated with their daily grind is to re-imagine the workplace as a mission field. Focusing on helping others win takes the sting out of an unpleasant workplace and turns it into a challenge.

Amen. It my prayer that we shine forth Christ in this dark world, in all that we say and do. That our mission field would be right where HE has placed us, without. having to going to another place to display HIS glory.

DAY 264: Finding Purpose in Your Work

I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God.  Ecclesiastes 3: 12-13

When a man connects his talent with his toil... he finds joy and satsifaction. Not all of us are blessed to be able to earn a living doing the things we love to do.

Regardless of the work you do each day - aim to please God with your best effort. Doing so will bring you greater joy in the toil.

Perhaps your passion isn't the work, but the relationships you form at the work place. Might this be the mssion field God has called you to cultivate?
