Today I woke up to my wife's car light on. Battery was dead. So I jumped it. Then while on the freeway the latch the held my hood broke and swung and smacked my windshield. And when the latch broke it punctured a hole in my radiator. So between my wife's battery and my hood and radiator it's going to cost an easy $500. Which money is so tight right now. Sorry for the rant but my point is, is that my first reaction was why God! But I've been absent to my daily devotions and reading for a while now. And I was focusing on other lame gods. And this is the result. Not saying God was bullying me to come back to him but I was not as sharp on my game to help prevent these kind of things from happening. Staying close to him is very important. Pray for me brothers!

Amen... I remember I had a lot of different gods. . the sad thing about it is that I didn't even realize it I was just putting so many other things before God and indulging in them. my list of addictions go on and on and on. . today I am so grateful that that chain has been broken and I do put God as the head of my life before all things including money my wife my family and my friends anything that you can think of ..I know that God comes first today and because of that I am experiencing him on a whole nother level !! thank you so much I really appreciate you for your Redemption, for your Saving Grace , for your mercy !! it's in Jesus Christ name I pray Amen

Holy Father, You are our God, and we are Your people, and we thank You for that. When we start worshipping a worldly God, keep our focus on the Cross. Let us look over the flash and instant satisfaction of the world and only focus on Jesus. That is where our true satisfaction is and our salvation. Let us keep You in our hearts, minds, and souls. Praying in the name of the one that satisfies our soul, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Wow! This is how I either end up in trouble or blessing. It reveals the heart of the matter of Christ being in the midst of what I do, or my flesh. I can't get upset when things turn out the way GOD intends. For HIS will brings HIS results.

DAY 262: Asking God to Show Up

"Then you call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of the Lord. The god who answers by fire—he is God.”   At noon Elijah began to taunt them. “Shout louder!” he said. “Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or traveling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened.”
~ 1 Kings 18: 24, 27

Have you ever traded your faith in God for faith in something or someone else?  Something like money, career, health, pride, lust, greed, etc.?

This ancient story of Elijah is a perfect reminder for when we sacrfice our life for the world versus living a life sacrificed for God and His people.

If you find yourself waiting on God to show up to light your fire, but He seems to be a no show... maybe it's worth examining whether or not your sacrifice was prepared for HIM or for some other lame no-show, lowercase "g" god.
