Amen.. each day I have to turn over my ego to the Lord it is very defeating and it makes it very hard for me to love if I let my ego stand in the way... I I thank God because he is helping me to be more and more humble each and every day and love people according to the way he would see fit and that's just loving them exactly where they are it's not up to me to judge not up to me to compare or try to be like anybody else or you no want for what anyone else has.. I'm so thankful there's been a change in my heart and my personality God is doing a great work in me and I just know that I want to keep on this path I'm very thankful for this reading today.

Abba, Father, we humbly come to You today to thank You for giving us the opportunity to help others and further Your kingdom. Help us to keep straight it isn't the amount of our gift, but the attitude in our heart that's important. Wether our gift is big or small, it is all for YOUR glory, not about us or our fragile egos. Let us give freely of our talents, gifts, and treasure. Praying in the name of the one that gave all for us, Jesus Christ. Amen

We guys are easily sucked into the comparison game. Often feels like it's baked in to our DNA. Most of my coaching with guys about their faith uncovers a habit of comparison at the base of their challenges. I fight against this as well - it takes naming it and accountability to regularly get around it.

Yes comparison is definitely a trap to keep my eyes off of what GOD is doing through me and other. As mush as I'd like to give GOD all the honor and credit at times, I have to admit that my ego gets a fleshy boost when someone acknowledges something I do like I'm a Super saint! And then my ego takes a blow when someone I may not particularly see eye-to-eye with gets credit for something. My brothers this must not be, my prayer is that God gets all the honor for whatever good is done in in through me. And that when another believer does something in it through God I can lay aside my insecurities and give thanks and praise with them in the same manner.

there's no problem in looking up to people who've done more than you dare to achieve .... the problem comes when u start idolising cats instead of seeing them as an example of what u can become ... the heart condition of anyone is not the same but we all look up to Christ who is the Head of the body ... he is the perfector of our faith the alpha and finisher of the same faith .... we all have one faith one hope and one baptism in the Holy Spirit ... one faith one Lord and one Father of our soul ... Amen

DAY 258: Giving Is Living

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
~ 2 Corinthians 9:7

Be careful to never compare your faith to another man's faith.  There is no stated contest for who can be "the most faithful."  There is no greater or lesser favor given to anyone based on what he or she gives or offers to others or the church.

The compulsion of your heart is the only measure of your gifts of time, energy, talents, service, or money.  There is no performance scale - only love which drives us to serve.
