Loving Father, we come to You today to ask that You help us open our hearts to others. Many times we hold resentments in our heart, and all that is doing is giving us less room in our hearts for You. Empower us to forgive others, and show them love, as you have shown us. Keep us from holding old grudges and let us extend the right hand if Christian friendship. Praying in the name above all others, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Yeah this one is definitely a big deal. Its funny how I want GOD to forgive me of my junk, but have a hard time letting go of others offenses. Or maybe I'm the one who offends them? Anyhow I really need to look at the bigger picture and be the first to make things right. And not let my pride and selfishness get in the way. Amen

DAY 255: Resolving That Nagging Conflict

Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.  ~ Philippians 2:4-5

There's no time like the present to resolve the differences you have with someone.  Rarely will your differences improve on their own. Someone has to make the first move.

Pride tells us to hold that grudge, to keep the conflict boiling beneath the surface. Maybe today is the day you put on your pants and face it head on.

How to resolve conflict the right way?  Be the first mover.  Remain calm. Ask questions to understand their point of view. Listen to them.

However, sometimes it just doesn't work out. Not everyone wants it resolved. Agree to disagree and move on. In every situation, pray for God's spirit to fill your words, your ears, and your heart.
