My "work" is about caring for others, so I struggle with "compassion fatigue" at times. Thanks for the reminder about being centered in God as the source of my strength, and the efficacy of time off.

Needed this kickstart today! Filling four job roles @ work this week, feeling overwhelmed. Oh God remember those out there today that have great struggles, give us the perspective to look beyond our "daily" struggles and pray for those that are facing true heavy burdens.

Heavenly Father, we come to You today for rest. Let us feel Your loving arms wrap around us and give us comfort. Help us Father, to give our burdens to You, and seek Your counsel. Many struggles are too great for us, but nothing is too big for You. Let us daily go to You and spend time with You. While we might burn out our candle, Your light is always shining to guide us to You. Praying in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Glory to the Lamb! Yes yes. It is actually 3am right now. And every day this is my time to seek and spend time with God before my day gets full with loads of care. If I don't carve out this time, I know that everything I try to do that's productive would not be with the best intentions. Meaning what and who I look at at the start of my day for result and how my day is going to finish amen.

DAY 250: When You Are Too Tired to Care

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
 ~ Matthew 11:28

Is your schedule packed so tight that you have little time left for relaxing?  Are you grinding it out at work, in relationships, or school just to keep up?

Are you tired?

God's desire isn't for you to walk around under a heavy load. He doesn't delight in a man who has no margin left over for himself or for others.

There's nothing wrong with hard labor or busy schedules, but if you neglect to spend time with God to refresh yourself or to serve the needs of others... you'll burn out.

God wants your best, not your leftovers. Remember, as you plan your day, leave some margin for Him, for yourself, for others.
