Great topic and great news. I had this struggle beat me for 20years, but our loving Lord and Saviour lead me out of it. Im still a man and therefore must be wise in this area, but there is victory through Christ Jesus, our losing and understanding Lord. You're normal, you're forgiven, you're an over comer through Christ. Keep at it, you will get there.

So true. Purity of the eyes is my daily focus. Wake up in Gods grace and start the day knowing He remained pure, and walk with a purpose for my eyes. When I don't.. I fall.

Amen... I must confess that I struggle with lust every single day. I constantly pray to God to help me break free from this bondage of sin. it pains my heart because I don't want to act on my lust for others and i want to keep my mind stayed on Jesus and have only eyes for my wife but it's a constant battle everyday so I continue to pray. I am very powerless over this matter and I constantly have to give it to God. please pray with me brothers because the enemy is constantly attacking me.. for in my past life I battle with homosexuality so today I don't act on that and I believe that Jesus has the power to save me from that but the lust is crazy I'm lusting after man.. I'm lusting after women and I constantly find myself doing it.. I pull away and I just pray. I don't have anyone to talk to about it though... so I'm thankful this app is here and I ask that you all would just pray with me. in Jesus name amen!

This app is good, I pay a preferred credence for men struggling with this addiction, I suffer with it also. I pray that we all may break this bondage, and live as free men in the purity of Jesus Christ. "Surley the arm of the Lord is not to short to save, nor ears to dull to hear". God hears our prayers, and wants us in communion with Him. May Your Grace and Mercies be new everyday. Amen.

the messages and the responses are so on point. I feel so unworthy of his grace when I sin after lust, and I pray for God to just take that away. but I don't want to lose that lust for my wife, I am so grateful God knows my heart. when the feeling comes over me I reach for the word, we are permenant RVers so I don't really get a chance to develope a christian brother relationship for help. I downloaded this app on my phone 2 days ago so I can reach for it when the struggle gets real, and also, lots of prayer and confesing to God really h3lps.

I too have been there--and sometimes still am! I confess that I am powerless to make it go away forever. God, grant me not only your grace and forgiveness but also your power to say "NO" when tempted--every time. Please keep me and all my brothers here--those who are reading this and those who aren't--safe in our walk with You. Amen!

DAY 236: Breaking the Chain of Lust

But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.  ~ 1 John 3:2-3

With every passing day, our inbox fills with more men struggling with lust and calling out for help. Guys, this secret sin thrives on shame and secrecy.

But there is hope! The hope is Christ's purity. He died for our complete human nature so we can be free of eternal bondage. Jesus didn't go to the cross just for your lust - he went to the cross for your entire life.

Ready to punch through?

  1. First, drop the shame. You aren't in this alone. It doesn't make you unworthy of God's grace.
  2. Next, confess your heart to a brother who will pray with you.
  3. When temptation knocks you back, look to Christ and know deep in your soul that forgiveness is waiting for a repentant heart,  and you are pure in God's sight through Christ.
