Amen.. Getting back to the basics is what i like to call it.. Standing in a position of gratitude enables me to be free and constantly giving and helping my fellows

I listen to the old song by Petra, "Thankful Heart" several times a week. It has become my go to song whenever I want to get rid of annoying or evil thoughts.

Thanks, Steve! While some look for specific measurables, I tend to find greater meaning in the larger picture... a sunrise I didn't create. Food I did not struggle to get. Unconditional love from my daughter which I can't buy. I spend too many hours per week on performance metrics... so it's freeing for me to find that gratitude in larger things. Isn't it cool how we are all wired differently? But can find significance in who God made us to be? This rocks!

I have found this works best when your specific. Instead of saying Im thankful for my (Lord, wife, child, etc.) say Im thankful that my child did x today. You learn to see the positive things going on in your life while learning to be thankful for them. It even works on bad days as there is always something positive going on.

Loving Father, we come to you today to thank You for giving us a grateful heart. Every day, let us show out gratitude to You and the people in our life we are grateful for. The list goes on and on of the people we should be grateful for. Unfortunately, many times we don't let those people know how much they mean to us. Give us the strength to tell them how much we appreciate them. Give us the wisdom to let others know we are grateful. Eternally grateful for Jesus! Amen.

I am grateful for the Lord Jesus, my wife and children and my Pastor.

DAY 220: Gratitude Sets Your Attitude

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy. ~ Philippians 1: 3-5

Research has proven that people who are regularly grateful are more empathetic, forgiving, helpful, and supportive than those who didn't engage in gratitude.

God's position on gratitude is clear throughout His entire story with mankind. Jesus regularly gave thanks to God.

The habit of gratitude can actually change the way you interface with the world, impact your decisions, and create deep joy and happiness.

To build this habit, begin your day by writing down 3 things for which you are grateful. Then, just before sleep - write down 3 things for which you are grateful. Make them your prayer.
