Intermittent fasting is great for your spiritual and physical health. I like the 16/8 myself, but you should do your own research for what fits you best. Also, simple calisthenics and endurance running are great way to keep your body physically ready. God bless

So so true guys! I recently lost 131 pounds bringing my weight down to a healthy 219 pounds at 5'11... I've been struggling the last 8 months gaining 30 pounds. This is definitely something I am making a verbal/physical commitment to starting NOW!

Hey David thats a difficult thing. I went through quiting that too.. i ended up starting running and that took some of the addiction away. the rest was staying faithful and not even having one. Ask God for strength he will help.

Drink plenty of water, I try and fast once a week, may go up to 2 times a week, very good for the mind body and spirit, hang in there fellas the Lord will give you the strength

Jud, yesterday we talked about setting the example and here you are setting a great example of what it means to be physically healthy. I know this is an area of my life I need to make time for. I used to be physically active daily until I got married and had kids.

Good words on a subject not addressed in church much. I am almost 76, have consistently exercised for about 50 years (running for about 45, now jogging and moderate strength-building) and eaten healthy avoiding sugar, fried and processed foods as much as possible. I am on no medication and have very good blood pressure and heart rate.

DAY 215: Taking Care of the Asset



Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;  you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.  ~ 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20


Serving others takes physical strength and stamina. Loving others comes in many forms and often asks us to exhaust ourselves for the ones we care about. 

Take care of your body, your asset -- for it is the temple of Christ and houses the Holy Spirit. Your physical health helps you leverage your strength. 

If we neglect our health, the scene is set to make bad decisions. We compromise our integrity when we are tired and irritated - causing us to attack.

So, train your bodies: Commit to exercise - offer yourself as a living sacrifice. 

Do you exercise daily in some form? What does it look like?

What tips might you have to help others guys who are thinking of getting themselves into physical condition to work hard for God?
