Lord help us, this has to be one of the most difficult things to do. There is so much evil and selfishness in the world and it is so hard to show grace and love to those that hurt or aggravate us. Jesus, please help us to see past this and remember that its not flesh and blood that we fight against and that we are to hate the sin and not the sinner!

Thanks for the heart felt prayer Whitlock. I hope you don’t mind if I copy it for me to refer to again

Heavenly Father, good and gracious all the time. I humbly approach Your throne of grace, mercy, compassion, and love. I am despately in need of forgiveness, I am certain I am the person who is hard to love, difficult to be around, and unpleasant to some. Father search me and remove these destructive patterns, and replace them with the love and grace You want me to display to the people You put in my path. Father, discipline and fill me with Your Spirit, through the daily study of Your Word of Life, and may I carry Your Word in my mind and heart each day, practicing self control of my emotions, thoughts, and tounge. may my actions and words reflect the compassion and love Jesus Christ displayed enduring suffering and death to save me and all of us from our sins, to be resurrected with Him, restoring my mind and heart each day. Amen.

Yes God gives “common grace” to all but He gives “saving Grace” only to born again believers.

DAY 195: Some People Are Hard To Love

The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.   ~Psalm 145: 8-9

There are some really hard to love people out there.  Being a Christian doesn't automatically make it easier for us to deal with the world.

It takes discipline and self-control to see people the way God sees them.

Thankfully, God does give grace to all.  He's generous with love, and has compassion for his entire creation.

Each day, move one inch closer to God by showing a little grace, compassion, and love to those people in your life who are hard to love. Pray for them to receive God's love, grace, and compassion.

Then ask God to reveal those "unlovable" parts in yourself, and the courage to tear down some of those walls too.
