This is very timely for me. A lot of people I work with and for can drive me up the wall most days. I try to pray unceasingly for patience and grace to love the people that make my life harder.

Precious Lord, we come to You today to thank You for pressing us to be more like You and love all. Father, get us out of our comfort zones and press us to love the unlovable. Let us show Your love to those we find repulsive and uncomfortable to be around. Press us to extend Your love to those we even fear. Impress on us that all our Your children and are just as worthy of Your love as we feel we are. Praying in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Self-reflection is sometimes the most difficult step in learning how to truly love others. Progression over Perfection!

DAY 195: Some People Are Hard To Love

The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.   ~Psalm 145: 8-9

There are some really hard to love people out there.  Being a Christian doesn't automatically make it easier for us to deal with them either.  It takes discipline and self-control to see people the way God sees them - and ourselves.

Thankfully, God does give grace to all.  He's generous with love, and has compassion for his entire creation.

Each day, move one inch closer to God by showing a little grace, compassion, and love to those people in your life who are hard to love. Pray for them to receive God's love, grace, and compassion.

Then ask God to reveal those "unlovable" parts in yourself, and the courage to tear down some of those walls.
