Father God, we come to the throne of grace today knowing that no matter how we look or act You love us. While we may deceive others, You know our every thought, desire, or longing. Even knowing all about us, Your love never lessens for us. Let us deal with others like they already knew everything about us. No need to try to impress, just be ourselves. Let us stride to bring glory to You in all we do. Let us share our love for You with others. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen

DAY 194: Appearances Can Be Deceiving

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.  ~ 1 Samuel 16:7

A fancy church building doesn't mean there are perfect people inside. A well dressed man doesn't mean he is honorable.

The way you treat others and the respect you show for yourself is the evidence of what's inside your heart.

We can't fool God by putting on a show. If you want to have success in faith, overcome an addiction, or improve a relationship... take time out to reflect on how you treat others. Look at how you treat yourself.  There lies the condition of your heart -- which is what God sees.
