A friend and I asked for our pastor's blessing to start a small men's group. Then that friend and I decided on possible topics, researched Biblically based books, told others about it and God blessed our efforts. We are still supporting each other over 5 years later. We have realized how much we need each other. You can start a small group - go for it.

Amen to this morning's Starter. Worrying about my ego and allowing the "pride"part of my brain to guide me has messed everything up too many times. Just yesterday a situation that has been bubbling came to a boil. I turned to Christ and told that "pride" part of my brain to get ready to deal with a little embarrassment. Facing this issue with the Lord' hand resting on my shoulder gives me strength that I never knew I had. Praise Jesus.

DAY 186: Finding True Strength

"how can anyone enter a strong man’s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can plunder his house."  ~ Matthew 12:29

Men are proud creatures. We don't like to admit weakness or confess we aren't up to the task.  Those unconfessed things, sketchy habits, or self-rightous pride are ropes which tie us and bind us.

Jesus Christ teaches us in simple terms... don't get tied up and strapped down.  Stay strong in your faith by confessing your sins to one another.  Help each other to stay unbound so that evil can not sneak in and plunder your life.

Get in a small group! It's the bottom-line-model Jesus Christ used for His disciples. Teaching them the best way to prevent the enemy from tying them up and plundering their life.
