Hey Jerome. It really comes down to your position and place with God. Having a fermented beverage is not wrong or sinful. Getting drunk has its consequences and typically leads down a regretful path. However, if you feel it will hurt your witness as a believer - then stay away. If having a beer will cause your friends to tumble into drunkenness, probably best to pass on the drink. If we judge a man as sinful for having a beer... do we really know where he stands? Too often we get hung up in this "item by item" sin list. When we should focus on the heart and relationship with Christ. The better question is "how should I represent God with my best effort today?" Instead of "am I checking off the lists so I don't screw up today".

Yesterday I was at the meeting with my teammates. After that we ate in the afternoon. I'm just confuse, is it a sin when someone drinks a beer? Is it bad?

In this sin filled world where temptation of the flesh is found in every source of media. Lord I ask that you grant me the strength to avert my gaze when I come across these images in my daily life. Grant me and my brothers the ability to filter the good from the bad in a world of such over exposure. Keep us strong in the faith with you as our anchor Lord.

DAY 159: Guard Your Eyes

Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word.  ~ Psalm 119:37

The world doesn't care what it shows you.  There is no responsibility of anyone to respect your values or be mindful of the weakness in your flesh.

The only person in charge of your "gaze" is ... you.  Of course you will see things, but you don't have to seek "those" things to see.

Pray today that God dim the view of those sights which captivate your eyes but soil your soul. Rather, choose to gaze up on the things which bring life and always ask for God's help with every glance.
